    Hi
Here is my Primus 2050 made in Sweden. It came with a larger gas bottle also made in Sweden. I have a correct Primus 2000 for it which was made in the RSA. The hose is leaking so it’s not been tested yet.

Good to see a review of the Primus, seen a lot on ebay UK, but rarely purchased I suspect since the gas cylinders are a dying breed.

I’ve the Primus propane torch and the replacement gas cylinders are still available on exchange but most of the time the valve in them leaks when detached from the torch. The suppliers never seem to get around to restoring the valves - hence my ‘dying breed’ comment.

I have two Primus cylinders and two Primus cylinders branded as Apex. I refill them myself.
I did a temporary repair on the hose to test the stove.

I just noticed on the Apex label that it is “under license to Primus Sievert”

Here is my 2050. It was my father-in-laws. Its fully working. Even with very old gas in the tanks. I don't know what the adapter is for though?

    Hi
    Welcome to the forum.
I made one myself and then purchased a Cadac to Primus adapter at a specialist gas shop to do the refilling myself as the filling charges were too high.
Gas shops in your area may still have the adapters available for sale or for refilling purposes.

Thanks for posting (and following up!) guys.
    all, Hello @presscall,
I feel as though you know as much about early propane models as anyone. Your "dying breed" rings true in the US from what i find (and can't find!). Obsolete unobtanium adapters / connectors / hoses / cylinders.

Fellow stovies can maybe learn a thing or 3 from our R.S.A. members.
It seems they didn't get the memo, and not letting them die.
Stating the obvious from image above: a "PRIMUS" cylinder was manufactured there. Maybe these models are/were more popular there.

[ " By 1953 production had begun of LPG appliances and LPG cylinders. " ]
1966 Primus merger, the propane stove maker became Primus-Sievert AB
Stating the obvious again, the Primus stove in OP is made in Sweden by AB BAHCO (i was looking for Primus-Sievert), my "guess", that places the stove into 1953 - 66 grouping. with a cylinder dated 25th Aug. '66.

I prefer white gas and kero stoves but, going forward propane may be the easiest of the 3 fuels to purchase? If so, these oft forgotten models may be cuing up for a revival (for curmudgeons that just want to use old stuff).
Confession, with that, I've just added "old as I can find" Swedish Sievert / Primus propane model to my wish list. Thanks again.

Mostly butane stoves in the UK, earliest the Wee-Dex from 1949.

I’ve tried out that Primus model, but the valves on the gas carts available here in the UK on an exchange basis are in poor shape snd leak (shame on the agents who still stock them). I’ve a refilling rig but other than for curiosity value it’s not a stove I’d use much.

THIS Companion stove from Oz has the Primus fitting (Sievert branded valve), connected to a larger capacity propane cylinder Primus produced.

Looks like a Camping Gaz to Primus/Sievert adaptor. Camping Gaz cylinders contain butane so fuelling on the Primus propane stove would be poor - too low a pressure for a jet designed to meter propane.

Hi can you post a pic of the adapter please? I'm still struggling. I drove to various gas suppliers and no luck.

The adapter for refilling the Primus gas cylinder will be Primus male/Cadac female .

Hi I have tried everything to get a way to refill the cylinders. Got lucky today and bought a Primus cylinder with some gas in it. But if it runs out I'm stuck again.

    Good morning Andrew,
I have a couple of the 2050 gas bottles that leak. Is it possible to take the valve out and repair the leak?
    Thank you in advance.

@Ian Gaylard Hi . Welcome to the forum.
I have a few that leak as well but had no success in removing the valve. I did find a carry handle from a larger Primus cylinder which has a seal and does the trick to keep the gas from leaking.
The other cylinder I keep the stove valve in to stop any wastage of gas.
Please make sure that the seals are in good condition to prevent any mishaps.
