This Primus No.4 has seem some heavy use over a long period of time. It's burner was almost completely clogged with carbon, it's legs bent inward to accomodate smaller pots, numerous dings and dents, etc. After some minor cleaning and restoration, it works like a dream. I'm sure it has another 76 years of service in it easily!

I have included one pic of it next to an Optimus 00 for scale.

    Hi Matt,

That turned out to be a pretty little unit. I have a hard time throwing out or parting out stoves intended for parts. Even with all of the dings and usage, it still looks good enough for display. I, for one, would display and use it. I do with what I have now, except for unfired stoves.

It's a fine example of bringing something back to use and display. That red burner cap sure looks cool.

    Hi Sam,
Thanks, I'm the same way. I will part out a stove if it's not complete, but if it can be fixed or made whole by adding a few parts, I'll do it. Just the other day I was going through my box of parts and decided to try to build another one. I was able to assemble a stove from an Op. 00 fount, a burner with priming cup labeled Optimus/Primus, Primus 210 pot supports and flame spreader, a cap from another 00 and the windshild from an old 111B. The thing works beautifully!
