    Hi all!
I got a little haul of parafinalia today which includes this No.5 primus. It has no date stamp only 'made in Sweden'. Looking through the reference gallery I think it may be a late one 60's/70's.
It had 2 different inner caps, no outer cap and the NRV is duff. I have not tackled one yet so that is a pleasure yet to come.

Hi @EmmyLou As you have worked out, your stove is a late model No.5 made by Optimus, post 1962 and probably in the 1970s, just before production of these particular Primus badged stoves ceased.

Here is a link to its sister:

    Primus No. 5 - late 1970s?

The burner features, the filler cap, and the shape of the top of the legs help identify it as Optimus-made.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Thanks @kerophile glad I was right. Bit of work to be done on it. Went out for a greenhouse heater and came back with 2 heaters, a stove and a lamp!!
I need to get a stove with a roarer burner to add to my collection.

Hi EmmyLou if you wanted you could easily fit a standard roarer burner to this Primau No.5 stove...

    Fettlebox has these:

    Standard Roarer Burner

    £8.85

A standard roarer burner for most 2 pint stoves. Fits Primus No:1 etc. Includes flame ring & nipple/jet.

Buy a few heat proof washers and you can swap back and fore between roarer and silent burner options.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.
