Steel tank, noisy burner, only Primus embossed on tank, clip on collar of pump. This is in the condition I got it, sounded unusual so I got it at a minimum bid. All seems to be there and condition is good. I will just clean it up being careful of the half decal. Then get it working.

    Cheers
    Rob

Rob that is a great find and probably not that common. They were made in South Africa but that is all that I know.
    Experts will be along soon.
I have one that belonged to my Grandfather, probably 1950's or 60's, it was not as nice as that one when I got it
as it had been left lying in a damp basement for 40 odd years.
    Here it is restored.

They appeared in the Primus documents in the mid 1950s and into the early 1960s.
They were called 5P where the 'P' stood for Primus Metal (Steel).

The decal on the front of your stove says “AB BAHCO
B.A.Hjorth & Co changed their name to the initials BAHCO in 1955 & this was reflected on the famous logo.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Thanks kerophile, I knew it was 1960 by the serial number, but the AB Bahco I have not thought about, it confirms the date.

    Cheers
