I bought a couple of stoves lately that came with some spare trivets including this unusual (modified?) Primus one. Any ideas anyone please? The legs are tack welded on and are so short at to make it not much better than a "pot stand" in the true sense of the word! lol
Looks like it was made for a stove with straight legs that were not bent into pot supports, like this Victoria. (Skip down to the 3rd photo. The ends of the legs are threaded, and screw into the horizontal tubes that support the cast iron trivet for this stove. Looks like your trivet would slide onto the leg ends.) ....Arch
Yes, maybe an adaptation where the trivet is easily removable from its fixed legs making the stove semi-stowable??? Seems a long way round to solve a simple problem! lol Thanks heaps for you input btw
A pot stand, for say a casserole dish? Well I've got to admit I thought of the same thing Tony Press - but it just seems such a waist of a perfectly good Primus Trivet! Lol
Hi Paul I checked whether that had been the case but the legs have definitely been manufactured that way in some sort of press i e. uniform length, no hacksaw marks etc - was just curious in case it was something important! Lol
I quite like that adaption. certainly in a domestic setting with say a silent it'll double up as a worktop pot stand quite nicely while freeing up the stove for further duties.
