I saw an interesting stove on TradeMe with $1 reserve. So of course I put an (auto) bid in at a lowish price. And then forgot about it. At the end of the auction I get the email: you bid was successful. Now that the stove has turned up I’m undecided whether to clean/polish it and destroy the remains of the factory sticker or leave it as with the engraving harder to read. It’s a Prince No 105. A 1.75 pint collapsible travelling stove with a silent burner. It came with the reserve cap but only the top of the original box. It has a winged cap not the one like @kerophile 105 has.
The patina looks clean and even. I would be inclined to clean with soap and water, then wax. If your not happy with the result you can always remove the patina at a later date. Nice find
Hi @gnome If you look at the illustration on the box that my Prince No.105 came in you will see a winged filler cap. However as you note, the actual filler cap on my stove is threaded to act as a storage position for the reserve cap: Prince No. 105 Three Crowns Obviously the stove design evolved over time. Best Regards, Kerophile.
I finally got around to finishing servicing the stove. The NRV was rather reluctant. After replacing the NRV pip and the other seals it was time for a test fire. it successfully passed the Rooibos test.
Great find, there is another in NZ shown here Prince No. 105 Three Crowns | Classic Camp Stoves. This one has been in my collection for a while now. It also has a winged tank lid.
