I wanted to change the pump cup to leather on my Coleman 425, after discovering at the cabin, that neoprene shrinks in the cold, rendering it useless. I had read, before purchasing a kit, that the leather cup uses a smaller diameter push on nut/retainer clip. I ASSumed that the kit came with the smaller clip, part no. 3000003094: What the neoprene looks like. Note the retainer is pretty much the same diameter as the inner diameter of the cup: Retainer and cup removed. I destroyed the clip during removal. Backup plate still on: The kit came with another backup plate, but I opted to use the original. Save it for a later date as needed: Leather cup installed. I believe the cup size is 7/8": Retainer that came with the kit: Installed. Looks like the same size as the original: Soaking in oil: Tried installing it back into the tube, but the clip is too big, pressing the leather too tight against the bore. Surprised the kit included the large retainer, and not the small one. I read on another forum, that the large clips diameter is .68", and the smaller is .55". I also read that some people just grind the larger one down a bit. I was in no hurry, so I ordered the small clip. Here it is installed. Notice how much smaller it is, allowing the leather to form to the tube's bore: Back at home: Success: Hope this helps. Thanks for looking.
