    Radius 43 silent burner.

It was blue when I got it but the paint was in poor condition so I repainted it.

The pot stand is quite different to any other 43's I have seen photos of, it does look a little like a stand used on radius 46 stoves. It is quite a sung fit in the tin so there is no rattling around.

I have put it beside a 111t to give a sense of size.

It is a great burner, it generally needs a double prime. I might try a wick in the spirit cup to improve priming.

The wire through the burner cap hold it on when the stove is rotated up side down to pack it away.

Enjoy the pic's and please let me know if you have one with pot stands like this.

    Dan

Thank you for adding your 43D Dan!

Great work on the paint work!!!

I need to make a windscreen for my silent burner.

    Best regards,

I have three Radius 43, all with different pot stands. One roarer with the "fold-up" pot stand, one silent with the "telescopic" pot stand and one more silent similar to yours. All of them great stoves, though I agree that the silent ones need double priming.

    Best regards, Rickard

    Hi Dan,

What makes this Radius a 43D? I have one exactly the same as yours, with this rather unusual pot-stand. It has the same blue colour and is also a silent burner. Much better - even tho it needs double priming.

Thanks for adding this in the gallery. I should add mine to the gallery as well.

Thank you very much for showing the Radius 43 next to an Optimus 111. I have always wondered about the dimensions of the Radius 43. If the Radius 43 was a small stove like a Optimus 10 and a Optimus 8R gasoline stove. Now I see that the Radius 43 was of a similar size to an Optimus 111 and that they were probably competing with each other.

If you look closer, you see that Radius 43 is smaller than Optimus 111.
Radius 43 is same height and width as Optimus 8, but length as Optimus 111.

Here is a photo of stoves to give you an idea of size in relation to each other.
From left to right primus 41, Optimus 111t, radius 43, Optimus 8r ( with an Optimus ranger 10 stove in it).
