'vmfa314' - Mack - asked me to let him know the dimensions of the distinctive SRV seal on a Radius fuel/SRV cap. I've never got the hang of including photos in a Private Topic post, but then again they might be handy shown here for someone else too.

These should be self-explanatory, Mack, a set of photos with dimensions in millimetres, but the same set of shots with equivalent measurements shown in inches to follow

An aside about the stove this cap/SRV came off - a fuel tank and regulating burner from a Radius range stove adapted to fit a British military No.12 stove case that I picked up cheaply, missing burner, fuel tank and pot rest. As yet it's an unfinished project, needing a pot rest to complete it.

This answers the question you posed in your PT Mack about whether other fuel caps (without an SRV incorporated) would fit, given that the SRV in a Radius kerosene stove is a bit superfluous, in my opinion. Answer's 'yes' - this one is from a Petromax 100, but loads of other marque caps would fit too

    Those dimensions again in inches

These photos should help too, a reminder that even if the seal on your cap has got brittle and fragments on removal, then even without the measurements above the dimensions are determined by the metal components as shown here

Couldn't resist including this photo. While firing up the Radius/No.12 hybrid outside, I lit up the scene with a wick stove I'd been working on. I've to replace a cracked glass 'window' in the chimney, probably with a piece of mica as it most likely would have had originally

Let us know how you get on with your Radius stove, Mack.

    Evening, John,

I offer my own thanks for once again revisiting this excellent tutorial!! Well done, and much appreciated. I've printed it out this time, and shall most definitely use it as a guide when I get around to fettling my pair of Radius 42's. Thanks, again, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Mark

Yes, thanks for the dimensions and other work on explaining the seals on these unique SRVs, Presscall. You've done a very nice job on all this as usual.

I notice that a Korean eBay seller by the id of "lovelantern2014" is now (as in just started yesterday) selling the metal and rubber set of parts to renew these caps. I have not tried this sellers seals.

Here is a link, that will of course expire, but future readers can search for the sellers name at eBay when that does occur.

Has there been any feedback about these, whether they worked or not?

    None I’ve heard Ken.

Gary (BD) has been applying his usual thoroughness to the issue of ‘flat’ or ‘dished’ seals, including checking on SRV release pressures.

Works well, it's not big science. Think the right diameter is 1", t=2mm. Middle hole 2,5 mm, others 6 about 4 mm. Newsly I have made for my Radius No.171 blowlamp.
