An exquisite tin for an exquisite stove. Superb tin graphics by Radius. The windshield was ‘oil quenched ‘ to prevent future corrosion occurring. Tank stampings. The presence of the famous Radius ‘Shooting Star’ usually confirms the stove was manufactured pre-1938. However in the case of this No.21, whilst the ‘Shooting Star’ is present there is also a ‘Radius Ltd’ stamped on the bottom of the stove. Clearly therefore, this No.21 was manufactured during the transitionary period of Radius moving to become a ‘Ltd’ company. I would therefore date this stove to circa 1938 (Type 6). Beautiful stove. Amazing that you found a tin in such good shape too. Do you have a seal between the priming cup and the burner, or between the riser and the priming cup? I have a similar 21 and am having trouble getting it to seal between the riser and the burner. I can't seem to find any official instructions that mention how to assemble it properly. Anders
@GibsonsRavinePark2 - Thanks very much. Sorry to hear about the current issue you are experiencing- hopefully, the following info will be of help to you. This is my burner fibre washer set up on my No.21. If you sit the pre-heat cup on the riser, you’ll note it sits fully on the riser and not on the riser’s outer edge. Looking at the underside of the pre-heat cup, the inner section which sits on the riser can be seen. A suitably sized burner washer is fitted into this section which the riser head will seal against. You can see the size difference between the main burner washer and the smaller pre-heat to riser burner washer. The dimensions of the pre-heat to riser burner washer I have used is: OD = 17.0mm ID = 13.0mm Thickness = 1.5mm Hope to see a flame shot posting from your No.21 soon! Pharael.
Thanks @Pharael for the detailed answer. I didn't have the right size washer so I trimmed a bit off a bigger one to fit under the cup. Works well now!
