good friends I have a question about the burner and the origin.
I got the burner through OLX and the seller told me that it was his deceased grandfather and did not know the origin of the manufacturer
    Scopus N 4205.
there is a complete heater with this name?????????????

Hi, looks to be a very well-made silent burner. Primus part numbers are used on both packaging and outer cap.

The packaging identifies the burner with the Primus designation No.4138,;which is a silent burner for a No.5 type stove.
The outer burner cap is marked as #4205, which is the Primus part No. for a “special metal” cap used on the #4138 burner.

The stamping of the lettering on the cap is also high quality, equal to that of a Swedish Manfacturer, or made on their equipment.

Scopus could be a reference to the famous mountain overlooking Jerusalem:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Scopus

I have never seen Scopus used as a brand name on Palestine or Israel made stoves, but perhaps others can comment.

    A Mystery...

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

Hi @Javerjayal . As you know, some excellent stoves were made in Uruguay under license from Primus. These were branded as Primus stoves:

    https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/primus-nº5-made-in-uruguay.34208/

So we know there was Primus production machinery, and local manufacturing skills in Uruguay.

Should we be surprised if a very well made burner, with Primus part numbering, but a SCOPUS Brand name appears?

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile

Thank you so much for the comments
Uruguay had well-known heating factories worldwide.
nowadays there are few in the local market because they were all sold abroad.

    Greetings from Finland!

I just got a stove with "Svea 1" marked on the base along with some oriental writings. Silent burner cap says SCOPUS and under it I have "Scopus, made in Israel".

Scopus text font looks quite new to me. Newer than the stove.

Hi @Antero , welcome on board!

Your SVEA stove probably had its original burner replaced sometime through its life. This happened often for instance when the original burner started leaking or got blocked with carbon. The replacement looks to be of very good quality, and should work well.

    Best regards,

    Wim
