Hi, I have always admired the very smart "serpentine" regulator keys shown in some early stove catalogues:

About a year ago a good stove friend agreed to make one for me. I took some photos soon afterwards, but never got around to posting them. So today it is:

It will of course fit other regulated burners:

I think it is a thing of beauty, as well as being really practical. I keep it on my desk when it is not on stove duty.

    Great Workmanship!
    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

    That is wonderful, George.
    Now if your friend could make another hundred or so . . . . . . . .

Hi George, very nice indeed! Is it made of steel or brass?

    Best regards,

    Wim

Hi Wim, the main section is solid brass rod. The square section is chrome-plated brass tube and was originally part of an Op111 regulator which had suffered fire damage and lost its cookie-cutter top.
The serpentine top ensures that it is comfortable to use even when left attached to an operating burner.
    Best Regards,
    George.
