Why would a package, from US, be stalled in Brussels, Belgium for the last 10 days .... and still counting? Ken
Sight seeing? Still looking out for Manneke Pis? Had to much gueuze or kriek to drink? Dunno.... Ok, enough joking for now! Is the package in transit to another EU country? Or is Belgium its destination? In that case it can sometimes take a while to get through customs (I know from personal experience...). If the total value is max. 22euro, no problem; if higher then import taxes and VAT have to be paid plus administration costs. (I've even had to pay adm. costs on packages that were less than 22eu, THEY decide they want to check things but YOU pay, even if everything is OK). Or someone mislaid it, or it fell of the transport conveyor or whatever. Everyone and their dog is buying stuff online nowadays so things get busy. I hope all works out OK for you!
Then it's probably the conveyor alternative - it got lost somewhere at a terminal facility. I've had similar experiences - it was even sent to the wrong EU country (not part of the transit chain) for a while...
Not so sure... I sent a package to Brussels, left Norway September 22nd, "reappeared" in Brussels October 8th... It would seem everything is very slow down there atm...
A Trangia 25 HA I ordered from Varusteleka of Finland, stalled at a Finnish airport for about 10 days, this summer. When it came in, the wrappings were a little ragged, and it looked like a small remote probe camera had been inserted inside, But it looked OK, once unwrapped, so I didn't complain.
Due to the corona situation international shipping volumes have increased and flights have decreased; shippers use the spare cargo capacity of commercial consumer and charter flights for transport as well, which of course have reduced drastically. Over the past 2 months I had various shipments being stalled at international hubs in Canada, US and various countries in Europe. Despite a serious delay the packages always arrived.
Related to this.. What tracking sites do you use, and where are you located? I am familiar with: USPS PostNord Ken

Thank you. I just noticed that it appears to have gone across the pond ... 3 times total. Here it shows going back to US after arriving in Brussels the 1st time. Software glitch? This is the latest. Today the 24th. 2020-10-19 09:36 BELGIUM, BRUSSELS, Departed -> Your item departed a transfer airport in METROPOLITAN AREA, BRUSSELS, BELGIUM on October 19, 2020 at 9:36 am. I use original sites instead of third parties. Frustrating at times when specifics aren't up to date. Mostly USPS slacks, but parcels do show up. Funny, many times International packages go thru more smoothly and quicker. Duane
Hi @snwcmpr . Belgium has a lot on its mind at the moment and one can see why flights and delivery schedules might be affected: “ Belgium is among the worst-hit European countries. With a population of 11.5m it has seen more than 11,000 deaths and, in the past week, its new infections have averaged nearly 15,850 cases daily. Its hospitals are under severe strain.” Best Regards, Kerophile.
@kerophile @snwcmpr The hospitals are under strain, that has little to do with @snwcmpr's shipment I think. This afternoon I had two packages delivered ( stove and lantern parts by the way, what else ). One came from Sweden the other from Norway. Both, stating the tracking information were to be delivered on Wednesday. That's the opposite from what @snwcmpr experienced, I think you just had bad luck with the shipper. Best regards Alain
