Standard Patent No.1, F&M, 1906-c.1908/9

    Almost polished to death but behind the superficially blank façade here is another example of a Standard No.1 stove fitted with the 1906 Trässman patent pump/NRV arrangement. The key to the identity is the vertically orientated NRV lurking inside the filler cap:

    It also exhibits the expected knock-on impact of this weak design on the pump fixing:

    If it were not for the problematic and unique NRV the identity of the stove would have been almost impossible to ascertain given the almost complete polishing out of the tank top legends and lack of any provenance marking on the base.

    But one fantastic little detail has survived well though, and that is a wonderful filler cap top specially produced for the sale of this stove through the Danish wholesalers Fog & Mørup; and whom it is interesting to note had only just come into being in 1906, the same year as the Trässman NRV patent.
