What sort of storage box or tin are people using for their stoves?
Most are displayed or on a shelf.
This will be interesting. I spend a lot of time putting together stove boxes and kits. I will post pics another time but I have a 50 caliber ammo box for a Radius 43 cook kit, a stout wooden cigar box for a Høvik 210, a Russian made stainless pot and pan set which nests either my Optimus 80 or Svea 123, an old military surplus magazine pouch for a Sepil alco burner with pot and pan set. Some are great for grab and go in a rucksack. The 50 cal Radius set up is for the car and winter sled trips.
I can't wait to see what folks come up with.
Thanks for posting!
Hope people post pictures
Optimus 00 Stove Box
Some Christmas gift tips work well. I use one for my SVEA 121
I have some tins, but I prefer the soft cases, they work better in my pack. The “sock” with the draw string came with a head lamp, but fits a Svea123 perfectly.
Here are a few of mine.
Left to right:
- Russian stainless oval pot and pan set. This holds either an Optimus 80 (Primus 71) or Svea 123.
- Cigar box given to me by my mother in law. Perfect for a Primus 210 or the like.
- Old plastic coffee container. This one contains a Coleman 550B set for paraffin. I have another plastic Folgers container with a 550B which is set up to CF.
This is the ammo box with Radius 43 and all the trimmings.
All are stored on any flat surface available in the house until packed in sled, car or backpack.
These are not as pretty as the hand made boxes. The craftsmanship on the boxes in linked threads is outstanding!
Any suitable size tin box, refinished and customized.
Any pictures of the inside
The Optimus is on 'The Bay'. It could be yours!
G'day @Dave1000car , I tend to use old biscuit tins but others are more creative. Have a look at this post, it showcases some excellent examples, particularly those by @Go Scout
Custom stove cases
I leave some in their factory tin, some displayed in front of their factory tin. If no tin, they are left for display and keeping dust off the shelf.
