When I read this topic earlier this morning, my first thought was about to suggest military stoves, just like Kerophile did.
Now when he did so, I can stay quiet...
Otherwise I like Ben's suggestion about kitchen stoves. Ranges, if you prefer.

    Ross,

    How’s about true Multifuel stoves?

All the other suggestions are great, too!

Oh wait …… there may be more than one model of stove that meets the " only one known" category. I was imagining one entry!

Individual stove models or makes, the most popular ones, eg '96's, Coleman's, etc
Basically we need loads of options, 12 months a year, how many years could be kept going?

What about boxed (or tinned) collapsible outfits. Pre 1920s for example? Self lighting? Steel tanked?

Lesser known brands? Stoves other than Primus, Optimus, Coleman, etc. If the man on the Clapham bus has heard of it, not a contender.

    Largest restoration/resurrection or worst-to-best?
