Dug this out of my father’s Aladdin’s cave of a garage, always knew it was there.

Hi, thanks to information provided by Bryan Miller, I believe that We can narrow down the time period that this particular stove was manufactured to around 6 years.

    https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/1969-1976-optimus-made-svea-121-l.11042/

This Svea No.5 is an Optimus No.5 clone, manufactured by Optimus between 1969, when Optimus acquired the Svea brand name, and 1976, when Optimus stopped making Svea (and Primus) branded stoves. The only exception was the No.123 stove.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

@kerophile , this is a bit more speculation, but given the condition of the stove many were bought for emergency purposes during the 1973 oil crisis.

Especially couples with babies with no means of sterilisation of bottles etc. during the power cuts.

So @Joe Sutherland would give you or a sibling a birth date just shortly before 73?
