    Hello,
I think George had a good idea, there are not enough stove photos on CCS.

The Svea 8 is a paraffin fueled stove with a fill capacity of 1.5 pints. Based on the 1915 catalog available on CCS for download, it appears to be the model 0 stove but converted to a travelling type with removable potlegs.

I am working on two of them, this one being the newer of the two with a steel pan ring. The older one has a cast pan ring and a wingnut attachment as part of the riser tube for assembly of the burner onto the tank. Both tanks are the same, stamped Sievert etc. and Patent. I believe the older one is from circa 1915 and this one to be newer.

The stove as received from Canada.

It had a severely clogged burner, the worst I have worked on. I used multiple iterations of these methods to clean it :
    1. Henry's oxygen purge whilst it was hot.
    2. Bryan Miller's red hot dunking method
    3. Ultrasonic cleaning in citric acid solution
    4. 120 psi Compressed air jet fed into the burner tubes
    5. Water injection while hot to make internal steam inside the burner

I won the battle and was then happy. All the seals and the internal NRV components needed replacement.

Here is a portrait of the stove. It has that characteristic Svea beauty don't you think?

    Thanks all.
The second and older Svea 8 is coming along well and it is the first coil burner type I have worked with. It will likely be just as interesting and entertaining for me to work on.
    Regards,
    Doug

Hi Doug, More stoves! Just what we need on this Site!

Another rare stove and wonderful fettle. I have joined the queue of covetous CCS members.
Good luck with the older sister.
    Best Regards,
    George.
