Not much to post on this one, just another case of Coleman bulletproof reliability. The fuel smelled fine and looked clear, so some oil on the pump cup and it cranked right up.

Boil test passed, new percolator test passed as well.

The dimple in the burner top plate seemed built to hold priming alcohol, so I did so. 20190727_153900.jpg

Wide open throttle. Completely usable but not incredibly powerful? 20190727_153336.jpg

Forgot to check the date. That's all for now, folks.

Nice score, that paint looks like it will shine and have some nice depth with a polish and wax, and a little clean out will have the 500 back up to full power.
I don't preheat mine, but a couple of weeks ago on a 4x4 trip I forgot to swing the lever over to light.... by the time I'd realised my mistake I noticed my non GPA friend had retreated a few good paces lol

Nice swap meet find. If you decide to sell that fuel cap I have a 228b that could use it.

228 takes the same size cap as the 220, right? Does the B make a difference there? If so, this cap is too small and won't fit. I might have a three piece cap that would fit, though it'll be green, if you're interested.

Has a green one on it. Looking for a nickel one to make it right. I didn't realize the 500 had different size cap,my 502 cap is the same as the 220 and swapped it with different lantern now they are both right. I think I can get one from OCP.

Yeah there's quite a difference between them. Surprised me too.
