Firstly big apologies to the Mods who will have to change the title eventually.

This I will blame on @Rickybob, it arrived today, I'm saving opening it till later so this the only image I have at the moment but more soon to follow.

No prizes for good guesses sadly,.but would not be surprised if someone gets there.

Ordered on the 12th June, impressive delivery timescales.

Looking forward to later. :D/ :content: :content:

Ummmm open it so we all can see. I won’t have a guess at what it is. So let’s see it. I am just impatient.

    Cheers

Opened late last night so no further pics yet.

Put it this way if I had put what I tbought should have been the official title it would still have needed changing.

    And I've broken it.

What on earth was such a POS it broke as soon as you got it.
Or was it a badly described Frankenstove?

    @Rickybob, nearly.

I didn't have a bottle fed stove, and after all the recent threads, and I think it was your comments about them being cheap now got me thinking...

So off.to Amazon and look to see.if Lixada did anything, pressed the button on £40.

What could go wrong...So this was delivered.

    WP_20180622_19_28_21_Pro.jpg

    Not a Lixada badge
    to be seen.

    WP_20180622_19_27_58_Pro.jpg

I wasn't going the @presscall full dismantle but thought some simple checks were worthwhile lime the pump, nrv and nipples. The extra that came with it was marked 30, the one fitted I couldn't see the marking so decided to use the included tool and see if it could be cleaned up enough to see.

Then decided to refit, which is where it went wrong.

    WP_20180622_19_36_42_Pro.jpg

Completely sheered the nipple, without much effort, it just went. The 30 should be the kerosene one, so I've wrecked the white gas. poor manufacturing, what is the replacement?

    WP_20180622_19_36_12_Pro.jpg

    If you haven't guessed by now...it's a BRS 8.

    WP_20180622_19_36_34_Pro.jpg

Possibly not completely clear, but the priming cup is fitted with wadding.

    WP_20180622_19_35_43_Pro.jpg

Fully set up. No opportunity yet for flame shots, hopefully tomorrow, kerosene first obviously, gas would be cheating.

Was going to title this as Lixada, but can be put in as a BRS 8.

excellent value - complete with fuel bottle - (msr take note)
pump is identical to the bulin multi fuel
actually the bulin mf has only one jet for all fuels so that is an improvement I think

Pre heat tubing also has an integral sprung wire.

Not checked nipple.thread dimensions, probably need better made spares. Don't trust the originals now. I know we can be a bit ham fisted occasionally, but all it took was trying to tweak tight and the thing broke off. :(

Guessing a standard spare but identification and source...

Can we blame @Rickybob for that as well Ken? :)

Well I finally had an opportunity to set fire to it this morning, and mean that literally. Definately needs considerable pre heat for kerosene.....things got a little excitable before it finally worked. Lesson 1, get fibreglass rope for pre heating.

I also hadn't fully tightened the fuel line to the connector at the stove and had a puddle of fuel to clear up. This is now fixed.

There is also a vapour leak past the nipple threads. I'm not going to use too much force here after destroying the .35 one it came fitted with, I'll see if I can get some fire paste/cement to plug the leak.

I'm not aware at the moment of a UK supplier of spare jets for this stove, suggestions would be welcome. They seem to be available from Alidoodah in packs of 10 for $14 if you want to wait for them, but no indication of size.

Hopefully get the bits above later today and get some flame shots when it gets a little darker this evening.

I have also tried it on butane using the recently bought adaptor and the cheap canisters and with the pre heating tube there is no problem with how the canister sits.

It's probably fortunate I wasn't using panel wipe for first liquid fuel effort.

good stuff! but if the jets are brittle should you glue them in? maybe a whisp of ptfe plumbers tape will do it

'classic' should definitely get the chop - sounds elitist - then a change of management
this here website should be publicly owned and run by a committee - the current moderators will do...….. for now

Found an old tube of Hylomar, a small wipe of that on the jet threads is worth a try methinks.

I'll hold off on the bulk jet order for now and see if UK options are suggested. I am assuming that the jet is fairly common across a variety of these stoves eg Kovea etc. The box this came in had Booster written on it.

The fibreglass rope was £1.99/m which should last me a while.

The Despot @Spiritburner isn't going to be happy with revolutionaries...[-X

Ah get you now @Rickybob collective stove ownership, what's yours is mine....

Stove being camera shy. Had it working pretty well earlier on kero until the Hylomar burnt off.:rage: Then small flames from the threads again.

Then tried it again, how the f@@@ do you use a pricker on these things....](*,)
