    Hi everyone

I have a few trangia burners and this one seems to have some white growth or corrosion going on.

Just wondering what is it,How do I treat it and will it affect the burner at all??

    Any thoughts?? Cheers. 1398065983-DSCF4410_opt.jpg

My guess is the white markings are a bit of mild corrosion caused by packing the burner away damp
Try removing it with fine steel wool or fine abrasive paper; cleaning out the holes with wire; then washing it out with meths
If anyone knows anything different, please do correct me

There were some very interesting recent posts about methylated spirits (metho..) attracting water and causing corrosion in aluminium fuel bottles - I had pinhole damage in an aluminium Sigg bottle. This may be the same.

    Others may know more.
