Hi all, I recently acquired three two pint fixed leg stoves. Two are SVEA #5's and this one is a Burmos (5S?) Can anyone help to assign its approximate age or year of manufacture? and confirm that it is a 5S? It has all brass knobs unlike some similar models in the CCS library. When did the plastic knob on the pressure valve come into use? There is a 'B' stamped on the burner nut. There are no other marks other than Burmos and British made stamped on the Trivet, the silent burner cap and the filler/pressure release valves/caps. ...... and it runs well! Any feed back/help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! Brassmonkey
Hi @Brassmonkey . I reckon it is a Burmos Silent Burner, probably made in the 1950s. Best Regards, Kerophile.
@kerophile Thank you for your confirmation. 1950's feels about right given the brass knobs. I am very pleased with it and I am indebted to you as ever for patiently sharing your knowledge. How is the weather at present in the far north? Kind regards Brassmonkey
Hi, cold and damp after a bright day, here in the North. We have had more settled and better weather than most of England so far this year.... Best Regards, Kerophile.
@kerophile Bright day down here but also cold and damp. Getting ready for some prolonged rain and floods. Thankfully I won't be directly affected by any floods. Just hope it does not impact others! Brassmonkey
