Picked up two of these folding stoves but can't find anything about them. Burner is marked "Enders" and "Made in Germany". Any information is much appreciated. Thanks.
Very much ultra light before it became fashionable! These stoves remind me of the Swiss army falt lanterne. Like Bastian and Harder I've never seen them before but like the concept. Nice find!
@ copilot Here in the US Sterno makers of gel fuel sell a folding wind screen / pot support much like yours. Folds flat, very light, cost $6-15 US and is a very good wind screen. They also sell a deluxe model of the Sterno Folding Stove with pan that make a travel case for wind screen. I cut some of wire gel fuel supports out so stove could sit flat. @Daryl , I've seen the new ones, absolute shite compared to the old sheet steel ones - much stiffer construction! Sterno doesn't make the old steel ones, but Coghlan's makes a near exact copy, both work great! Sterno also made a two "burner" version, works just as well! https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/sterno-folding-stove-lock.23825/#post-242902 Murph
Copilot, will you please post a pic of the bottom of the stove/burner? I'd be interested to see any markings (or lack thereof). I've seen a few of those Enders burners over the years, but never that framework. My initial thought was it is very similar to Sterno, as pointed out above. Haven't seen that style associated with Enders before, not in catalogs or pics. Pretty neat find. You mentioned you found two, were there any instructions or packaging with them? Here's a pic of the burner in a ~1959 Enders catalog:
The silver burner is alteady mentioned in the galery: Enders No 9091: Cobold:1956 HRZ spirit stove Ciao, Bastian
