This Velox 6 from around 1930 came to me in this condition

so after wiping the surface and cleaning the brass-parts in- and outside plus ultrasonic I gave it several tests.

Well, the flame looks better than it actually is. 1 Liter takes 15 minutes! I`ve tried several times with big wick, little wick, further up and down. Either it burns with big roaring and the alcohol is coming out by itself or the flame is a quarter size compared to the picture here. So this now seems to be the optimum, but with 50% more time as stated in the catalog - alas "slow cooking".
    Any ideas?

Any photos of the big and little wicks? Construction details, such as what made of?
