I've recently retired and hope to attend the Northeast meeting in VT, but I like an excuse to go South too!

@snwcmpr Your shed is better kept than my head.
I can not plane it, but some info would help someone else. Where does everyone live (to find a common point), what kind of gathering (camping, hiking, or just meet), any limitations to consider, and time line.
I live in Charlotte, NC. I am up to almost any kind of meet, but I have one car for 7 people. Weekend would be better. I do not deal well with heat.

    @geneislucky is near Knoxville IIRC
@Cavry is in N Georgia mountains.
@BradB is on the NC coast
@Koolmoose is somewhere far north (Yankee country?)
@Hazet is near me. (Asheville vicinity)

Blue Ridge Parkway east of Asheville? Old Fort area.
I don't know the area east of there.

    Anyone else?

Davidson River CG, Pisgah NF, appears to be open this time of year based on Rec.gov. It will have 24-hr on site staff beginning April 1.

    Go Ken Go.

Government sites are best booked as soon as possible so someone pick a site within the next week. Hint, hint. First person and all there after shall share their campsite number so that ideally you can have an easy walk to each other. Best is when a majority are in sight of each other.

And if someone knows where to shop close to the site then share that knowledge. Places to shop, museums, Curiosity Shops (stove and lantern shops to the in crowd) should be mentioned as well as butcher shops etc.

Shared food with various people volunteering to bring generic foodstuffs. Also shout out in email once you reach critical mass any special requests. Some are will be on special diets so don't presume. Also sending out volunteers to grab extra grub and ice is part and parcel.

If you are in bear country, (is there any part of US not in bear country except VT) then coolers will need to be kept in cars/trucks.

Bring folding tables and large canvas/tarps for dining. In Vermont, we have needed this almost every year.

Lastly, bring all the stoves and lanterns you can. Always something to see for the first time, share and swap parts and fettle. One member in the VT get together brought a drop forge so think large.

gremlin70, see if anyone is driving past your home. Over the years we've had a few shared rides with the VT/NorthEast group. Also worked out for the one MidWest/Wisconsin get together back in 2010.

Helped with NorthEast then nudged the Wisconsin camp along. Been there, done that. ;)

At this stage, it's getting the campsites together or reasonably so.

We seem to be a much less organized group than the NE meet.

The only trouble with Davidson is that most of the sites are not reservable. First come first served. Know any private campgrounds? That might be more manageable.

Is there a date that everyone can agree on? Part of why I was not going to plane it was that I don't have the stuff needed. If it is to be a camp out, someone else would need to be in charge of bringing the kitchen and food. I would only drop by one day (if I can). The person who has the equipment would be the best person to plane it, but I can if needed.
