Copper, tinned on the “food” side; 25cm/10 inches across the bowl.
Hi @Tony Press have a look at this post and associated links:
Mongolian Fire Pot
I knew that thread was here somewhere.
This one of mine in very solid and in excellent condition.
There are four more if anyone wants one. No lids.
I tested this “Mongolian/Chinese/Korean/Asian Hotpot” tonight.
I’m working up to making a Sechuan hotpot dinner.
Tonight is only water, but the boil was fast!
Have you thought of getting a suitable sized frying pan lid and cutting a hole in the centre to allow the chimney to go through?
Your vessel will then behave like an oven.
I have thought of that. And I’ll do a trip to the Asian supermarket to see if I can get one the right size ready made.
But in the first instance I’ll use it as the cooking bowl (no lid) for the hot pot.
Looking forward to seeing food being cooked.
An Asian hotpot (mushrooms, prawns, beef, chicken, bok choy, and tofu, in broth, plus noodles, tamari, home made weapons grade chili paste, and sesame oil.
Is that breakfast?
Dinner last night... very sociable.
Sounds good Tony

I like the sound of that! Care to share the recipe?
When I get home, I'll put it in the "Recipe" section.
I like that SVEA - got one at home just like it. Not quite as shiny though...
