I got this stove out of my grandpa's house. I have no idea how to use it, it has no primer that I can see. If you know how to get running or what make or model it is, I would appreciate knowing.
Looks like a Coleman Handy Gas Camp Burner model - https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/15256 or something similar...
It's a Handy Gas Plant (HGP) by Coleman. Looks like it has the big burner so it could be the Model 460. So it could be anywhere from 35K BTU to 55K BTU. It uses Coleman Fuel. sam
Looks very sim to the Coleman I had. I had to pump that ine up via a valve in the fuel cap. It would not sustain, the pressure needed to be refreshed every so often. There was a gauge just for this. It ran nicely, started easily and really chucked out the heat. Legend had it mine was from a travelling side show and fired a toffee apple or candy floss vat. Interesting thing.
That's a Coleman 458G. It has the smaller 18k BTU burner. The burner on these is very similar to a larger version of the 500 Speedmaster. The 457 and 460 had larger 35k and 50/55k slit burners respectively. The main valve on the tank works just like most other Coleman stoves in that it mixes air to atomize the fuel at a quarter turn and is then opened all the way once burning blue and clean. Otherwise you will lose pressure pretty fast. They will run for hours without the need for additional pressure if operating correctly. Mike
