I wanted to reply to a post in the "For Sale, Wanted or Trade - Subscribers Area" but I but apparently I have "insufficient privileges" to do so. Any idea what this means and how to rectify it?

That is the default of any locked thread.

 

Maybe a sticky message at the top of that forum titled something like
Respond to ads by private message - replies not possible
would make things a bit clearer?
