    Hi All

While trawling through ebay last week i spotted some Primus spares so i bid on them at the last minute & won a small but interesting selection 8)

I should have paid a bit more attention because when they arrived yesterday i found this amongst the bits , a Zora burner  :D

I've already made some bits to adapt a No4 burner inner & outer cap to fit :D & it came with two tri-point flameplates as well

The No4 inner cap is fitted with a loose ring spacer to centre the burner properly on the short venturi stub  .

& the roarer flame plate fitted :D

If anyone has a spare Monitor half pint fount for this burner i would be very greatful for one , PT me you know where i am :D

I also snaffled this "Monitor picnic" stove fount with the the bun feet & vap tube , does anyone have any burner bell , tin stove box or screw on travel plug spares to finish this restoration please , PT me if you have for a chat 8)

Hey Stu, interesting Zora burner. Am sure it will fit into one of the stoves smallish stoves. Wonder if you could adapt the burner to the stove pictured without damaging either parts :-k That would make for an interesting frankie.

The burner had a small hole where the vap tubes met the vap ring but this was soon silbrazed up & this is what i have to play with now , i do have a spare Opti 00 fount so it may go on this until a until a correct Parasene ( sorry said Monitor earlier ) fount becomes available :D

Stu, looks like the roarer really puts out BTU's. Was that monitor stove meant to be in a tin that has pot supports like the Opti 80?

    Drool!

    Thanks for sharing.

    Hi All

I had some some 5/8 x 26 taps on order to make my Monitor picnic travel cap which turned up yesterday :D  so i had a go at making one today with some scrap brass found under my bench

The scrap tube i had was just the right size to be threaded internaly with the tap , i used the taper tap to give a good seal when tightened on  , then i silbrazed a cap on the top & turned to size in the lathe

Only had one problem i made the cap before the knurling process so it wasn't too effective but still gives enough grip to unscrew  & i'll sort that out when i make another :D

I had to use a 96 burner to get the Monitor fired up & it ran well  here are some pic's
