Thanks,

Both the burner and the brass tank use to have OPTIMUS mark or letters. The knob shown has been made in black and red hard plastic. The heat shield has been made in crome ore galvanized steel, and a magnet shold be abel to set on it.

The green color indicates used in some force. Swedish forces had some black text-signes popped on. Norwegian army usually used sivilian models, and may have painted over the sivilian color.

Parts coud be looked up at section of exploded weives.
Note; Pump have been made both in O-ring and leather versions. All roarer burner-versins has orginally leater-cup in pump.

Swedish Military stove?

October 9 2003, 1:51 PM

Hello, and thanks for the reply.
This seems to be a military stove and is a bit bigger than the Optimus 111b. I thought it might be a paraffin (kerosene) burner due to the roarer. But, the instructions on spiritburner show it to be a petrol or whitegas? roarer burner. Is the pump there to create a faster and hotter burn? Any thoughts and ideas will be appreciated.

Probably a 111 or a 111B

I agree with Dag.
I've got an Optimus 111 triple fuel (silent) purchased from the Norwegian Forces. It has the same colour as your; light greenish metallic(?), and the same overall shape. The adjusting wheel is slightly newer than yours, but it definately looks like other Optimus adj. wheels I've seen.
To tell whether your stove can be a 111 (kerosene) or a 111B (petrol) one have to take a more detailed look on the burner. Do you have a closeup of the central part of the burner?

Burner type kero or petrol

October 10 2003, 2:15 PM

Hello,
Actually I posted this message before the stove has arrived. From what I understand from previous posts. If this is a petrol (white gas) burner it will have a 'u' shaped tube unstead of using all four tubes as a kero (paraffin) stove would use. As soon as I get the stove I will be able to tell.
I just had never seen a roarer that was not on a kero burner. Ya gotta love this hobby. You never know what you will find.
