Svecia no.1, when?October 13 2003 at 11:42 AM | Leif... |
| Hi,
Ive just got my hands on an Svecia no.1 stove. This is the first Ive stumbled upon and thus I guess they werent made for such a long period. Does anyone know during which years these where made?
Regards,
Leif

My Three Crowns Brand catalogue/instruction sheet is dated 1937 - may be on this site somewhere. The Number 1 at that date had the one way valve on the opposite side of the font to the pump assembly.

Thanks for the reply. My stove doesnt have the extra valve though so I guess I have a later version.

Laurence's 1937 instructions are the newest info I've seen on Svecia. The earliest dated stuff I have is 1911 with the manufacturer shown as AB Jarnvagsmateriel & then the same Svecia brand again in 1912 with Karl Fr. Erikssons (KFE) as the maker - with identical pictures in the literature for both cases.
I have been told by a couple of Scandinavian blowlamp collectors that AB Jarnvagsmateriel were only sellers not makers although I've not been totally convinced yet partly because the front page of one of the catalogues has a blank title 'Represented by:' - strange to have this if they were the reps.
If anyone can throw has any facts or info that may throw some light on the brand especially around the 1911 -1912 period I would be grateful to hear from them.
