We use one typically on the campfire since it the place to gather once it is lit. ( defn. Campfire - place to swap lies  )
Seem to have it as the snacking time and use Cherry pie filling (or Blueberry) to make a turnover dessert. Some will add meat cheese and pasta sauce to make a hot pocket pizza, I guess? the posibilities are endless!?!?
Whatever you like sandwiched and grilled.
Will have t crank out a classic and give it a go the next time I'm out.
I never thought of using one on a classic instead of a fire. I've thought of picking one up as I think the kids would enjoy it. Over the winter I found a popcorn maker for use over a fire. That should be fun on this summer's campouts.

popcorn over a fire

Alan, many years ago when i was a wee lad, (and we won't go into just how long ago that was) we lived on Densmore street north of Northgate shopping Center and we used to pop our corn using one of those over the fire in the fireplace. I didn't have oil popped popcorn until i was nearly grown up. Ok, so I'm not grown up. So? I have gotten older.
