Got one from Albert. It's pretty rusty but i'm sure it'll work!

I'm not sure what m it is yet. Probably 1940?

Her's some pics:
As you see, the burner is really corroaded, and is held on with two pieces of wire.

Her's the whole thing.

Anyone have any comments on this type of stove( the nearest i'v ever used to that is an M1950)?

Can you tell from the pic what M it is?

Anyone know where i can get a burner?

M1941

Looks like a three legged M1941 to me. Foxhole Stove, Ernie Pyle Stove, GI grunt stove are some of the nick names for this model. It normally comes with a steel two height adjustable container. The aluminum container will also work. Gordon

Adi,
I wonder if the burner for the M1950 will fit? If so there are some of those still available.

520 pocket stove

Adi I believe that is the Model 520 pocket stove and Gordon is correct http://www.oldtownyucca.com/coleman/sales/ready.htm http://www.oldtownyucca.com/coleman/museum/520.htm http://www.coleman.com/coleman/ColemanCom/NewsRoom.asp if you go to the coleman link click on photo library and then on Historical they have pictures of that stove when it was new.For your imformation that stove was rated at 5000BTU.It did come in a steel or aluminum case the steel being harder to find. Great little stove . The M is the Military designation .Dan

520

Oh, right!

So i got the legendery 520 pocket stove without even knowing it. Cool.

My M1950 burner won't fit it, but i know one that will. My APC double burner medical sterilizer stove. That has thesame burners, with thesame flamespreader/windscreen.

I don't want to pull my strerilizer appart tho.

Oh, well, i'm sure one will turn up eventually. if the worst comes to the worst i can allways "modefy" another burner ti fit it.

As wer talking about US stoves, does anyone know where i can find out the specs for my 2burner sterilizer (i'm interasted in BTU)?

No model and no number

I i know is that it's made by APC (Armstrong Products Co) probably sort of Vietnam time.

It's a copy of a Coleman tho.

Coleman made two. One with a cylindrical tank, and the other one with a sosauge shaped tank with a seam running lenghways down the middle. The cylindrical tank is WWII, and the other one is sometime later. Well, the one i got is a copy of the later sosauge shaped tank one.

mystery stove

Adi is it like the mystery stove on this site? Coleman made a Vehicular two burner.I did notice that Coleman advertised a lot of the military stoves as also being capable of sterilization even the M1950.The one model which was a dental sterilizer (1burner) was 2500Btu's I would like to see that someday .If I ever make it to England I will stop in. Dan (PS when I win the lottery)
