Is it one, two, three? One twenty-three? I intuitively want to say 1, 2, 3, but what do I know! I bow to a native from its country of origin. :-#

I pronounce it: Sah Vay Ahh 1-2-3
I learned that from all my friends who have one.

    It's probably more like: S-Vay-Aah 1-23

I like the first one better...

The locals around here pronounce creek: crick

on the old site one of the fellows from Sweden posted a sound bite of how they were pronounced.
maybe a look at YouTube would bring up something.
no one around here uses Classics so i can say it anyway that strikes me that day and no one's the wiser.

Exactly this was up not so long ago. Check this out.

I linked to this site where you can type in a word, and it is spoken to you in Swedish.
It works good, and Svea has the right pronounciation.
    Go to: http://www.acapela-group.se/text-to-speech-interactive-demo.html

You write the text in the large window and press the triangelshaped arrow after the sentence "säg det!"

It works, but note there are 3 different Swedish voices. Trangia and Svea each have 3 distinct pronunciations in Swedish. If there was a 4th voice, there would probably be a 4th pronunciation. ;)

    "5 Is right Out"

NOW I know why I've always called mine "The Holy Hand Grenade"

Cleric: And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.

Exactly. Just as in real life people does pronounce these things different.
It's hard to get rid of the artificial feeling, but Emma is the closest to Svea.
Svea isn't really pronounced so different by different people here, but Trangia is a hell of a word to tell you how it's pronounced since there are atleast three totally different ways to do it! I think it's a local thing. The voice of Eric is closest to how I do it, but some Swedes like to exclude the "g" entirely from the spoken word to say "tran-ya". That sounds like rubbish to me, but is pretty common up around the capital.

You must ask her again!
There is absoluyely no "uh" in Svea.
The letter "A" is pronounced like a short "A", and nothing else.
    Like in your "Aha!"

Long ago a little alien gave Captain Kirk a libation and asked him how he liked the "trawn-ya"... I wish I'd seen the script. ;)

Wait! OF COURSE it's on the web, even the audio! Scroll down to the end... The alien's name is Balok...  They spelled it "Tranya".... darn it.

EDIT- clicking on the audio link keeps crashing my firefox browser, so if anyone else experiences this, I suggest not doing it. Sorry.
