This little package came the other day. It comes with the bell cap and a little bag to store the whole kit. The inner and outer cap are held in place with a spring clip My Omnilite is with a friend. But the Omnifuel works. The bell sits inside the bell of the Omnifuel. A lot more mass than there should be. I can't wait to test it. This is with the Primus 45 jet. It almost overpowers the cap. Nice. @hikin_jim Agreed. But, what took them so long? If they were paying attention to what BD (Gary) started, it was pretty clear folks were willing to pay a lot for a silent burner. The market may be small but if they could get their own design to be made in China or other-cheap-labor-location for under $5, there was money to be made. Or maybe, someone again ran with Gary's ideas, cut the cost, and eventually were able to sell it to Primus? I don't know how these things work.
Gary? I thought that the silent cap for the roarer burner already was invented for about 80-90 years ago. Michael
The Primus Omnilite Ti silencers have been available for a few years. Happen to notice the date of the original post? Not so sure I'd want to use it in my Omnifuel though.

Missed that date. I don't see where I said Gary invented the silent cap. More importantly, he has pointed out that he worked from earlier designs.
Well, while it's true that Gary didn't invent the silent cap, he is very definitely the one who re-introduced it in modern times. Primus had them back maybe as far as the 1920's, but nothing for the last 50 years before Gary re-introduced them. I thought it interesting that Primus re-introduced that which Gary had done... based on what Primus had done. HJ
Most of the established stove companies are pretty conservative about changing what has worked for many years (sales-wise). It took quite a while for Primus, Optimus, and Coleman to start selling remote tank stoves even after MSR was selling a lot of them. ....Arch

Hi, I'm not trying to mock the Primus Silencer Ti but it still needs a bunch of work done before it will be right, so why would anyone want to get a costly silencer and then have to get it fixed to work properly when you can get a silent cap that works straight out of the box without needing to alter it for your purpose. I've used Gary's, BernieDawg, caps for years now without any problems. His caps do the job of silencing the stove straight from the box. His caps are the most affordable caps on the market at this time. Cheers, Norman
