Well, if you weren't wanging @Trojandog 's wellies, what was the weapon of choice?Looks like you were enjoying it anyway.

    My photos.

Stu (@loco7stove), @Wim (aka Wim), Trevor (aka @shagratork) and Terry (@Trojandog). All but Terry distracted by something.

    IMG_1800.JPG

... now joined by Alan (@salan3) his companion Anne and @Big Si out of shot to share in my modest repast (Moroccan lamb - but with beef added to bulk it out - couscous with roasted flaked almonds and preserved lemons and freshly baked flatbread).

    IMG_1801.JPG

Dutch Oven fare, simmered for hours on a suitably windshielded wick stove, a Haller (Dutch) 3-wick model.

    IMG_1784.JPG

Night fell. The best of company and chat.

    IMG_1802.JPG

I bought some stuff and was gifted more.

From Terry came the Canex Kettle he featured HERE on CCS. It dispenses boiling water down a spout. We wonder why. Why not boil the water in a Kelly kettle-type pot (which it is) and pour the water out of it, rather than dispense it from a spout.

It prompted an experiment in trajectory-estimation. The copper tube is the outlet spout, the other projection is the aluminium handle.

    IMG_1808.JPG

Terry watched as my Ecozoom Versa built up the pressure.

    IMG_1810.JPG

My initial aim was poor ...

    IMG_1811.JPG

... but I moved the teapot to catch the water for my brew.

    IMG_1814.JPG

It's always a great pleasure to meet up with CCS pals at Newark, but a real treat to meet Master Fettler Stu (loco7stove) in person. We hit it off like old pals, which we already were - in a virtual sort of way.

Here's his set-up, a Primus No.3 ... [Incidentally, the 'lantern' second-from-right is a classic Stu Special, an Anchor lantern converted into a heater, incorporating a ceramic radiant from a gas fire and a curved reflector on the far side. Very effective it is too]

    IMG_1815.JPG

... for his outstanding wok-cooked Thai curry. Beautiful. Wim assists.

    IMG_1816.JPG

The curry proved to be the first of two meals that Saturday night. Just prior to the Memorial 96 Firing for Bryan, @Simes and his wife treated us to pizzas from their remarkable oven.

    IMG_1819.JPG

    IMG_1821.JPG

Here was the one I prepared. Others made a much better job of theirs - the skill's in getting the base thin enough.

    IMG_1820.JPG

Cooked, my beer alongside, fellow patrons of the Simes pizzeria in the near distance.

    IMG_1822.JPG

The Memorial 96 Firing followed. Here are the three I brought, perched on a Canadian Coleman 4M (February 1960 date) generously given to me by Nick (@brassnipplekey).

    IMG_1824.JPG

Concluded by (apart from chat and drinks in the Fettlers' Arms into the wee small hours) the stove-throwing contest.

If my eyes served me right Gary (@redspeedster) slung his fuel tank the furthest.

    IMG_1844.JPG

Wim however had a certain style too.
