Hello @gieorgijewski , Thanks for posting. No hurry for answers, enjoy our good weather while it is here! TWO PARTS Part one: re your "Is TOR 91 - came from OPTIMUS 91?" a lot of "IFs" are coming up... IF yours has the large hole in lower windscreen, maybe that mean it is not a 91 Tor? IF you have the pristine storm cooker with gas burner in hand? IF you too think this is "Optimus" storm cooker (I would guess it is) it is worthy of separate post . the "Optimus International" logo format is a date clue fwiw. IF you think gas burner is original? The adapter for gas burner, although it is a familiar Optimus / Gaz blue, I can not say I myself recognize this burner assembly. IF we set aside burner, we then look at incomplete Optimus storm cooker... is it an 85 Loke? or maybe something else? Anyone? On CCS here Stefan describes "Optimus 91 Tor", no image , note 91 Tor was a mil-spec army alcohol storm cooker and not all made by Optimus. In fact the post mentions sets with "Optimus" markings are rare. Check again for any Optimus stamping w/magnifier (maybe none). I don't know what you have there but I expect fellow stovies may find it interesting. If it is only the red bag that is Optimus, that would be strange imo, and a reason I will guess the storm cooker is Optimus. We can note Optimus has used that waffle pattern on top but many copies have used this as well and there are a ton of similar storm cooker of all ages as you know. Part two: I also want to pick your brain about your Shmel (1), Shmel 2 and Shmel 4 that you posted above. For one, do you know was there a time 2 and 4 were both made? I wondered if maybe 2 replaced 4 but that would be odd if it did? If you think it is ok (apples-to-apples ) to compare 2 and 4? It looks like maybe 2 holds more fuel but I have not seen a 2 & 4 side by side. Which one do you like better? @pau-i-amor I can also ask you what you think about Part two? You have posted a Shmel 2 and 4. Thank you for excellent ref. posts btw. Just a note to readers: we're discussing #s 1, 2 and 4... FYI yes there is a Shmel #3 it is a 2 burner (a double #2?). thanks omc
at first: my qustion came from this topic: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/tor-91-with-campingaz-t-470-burner.18413/ where in O91 section is placed THOR 91 In first look that are two differents stoves IMO - 85 Loke and THOR 91 came from "trapper" line -------------- my example is the same as is in the upper topic came from Norway campingas burner and heavy spiritus burner is compared with trangia mini and "not branded" selling by JULA copy of O91 ------------- for one - need to be checked "4" - Russians says - is better for me as user - they are the same emotionally - No 1 is number one no 3 is double no2 all - shmells - have pump with oring i can made substitute - but prefer classic system ---------- 2, 4 - really are stoves for small group 2-4 persons 1 for 1,5 -2 but - if i need this class stove - i prefer "ODRA"
Wow, Gieorgi that was fast, impressive , thank you. You quickly answered all my Tor questions (and then some) I see better now why you ask about 91 Tor, I was slow to catch-on . You teach me again and I myself have no more Tor question. I think we both still wonder about types of 91 Tor or types Optimus trapper / storm cookers. The No.77 came out "new" in 73 so although similar storm cookers can be very old it seems everything Optimus related to yours will be fairly new, after c1973? Oh wait, still two question, no hurry on answer (Pau or others may have answer too). Initially here you think Shmel 2 and 4 are same performers, so we can compare them (apples to apples). Do you know was there a time 2 and 4 were both made? (I thought maybe 4 was older?). Do you know if 2 holds more fuel than 4? Thanks once again for your quick, excellent response above. omc
if We are talking about my examples - yes they are modern - not from 70-ties Is my THOR 91 is 27 years old - hm... i dont know rubber is in very good conditions ----------- btw - "trapper" line has bigger pots ------------ at day i check tank capacity

Thanks Gieorgi, If that's correct I'm surprised to see No. 4 holds more fuel than No.2. As mentioned I haven't seen them side by side but I "thought" No.2 looked like the bigger tank of the 2, go figure. Glad I asked. thanks omc Bumblebee-2 TECHNICAL DATA 2.1. Hi @OMC Shmell series burners are similar. There is only a few diference inside. You can find more about this in http://www.mountain.ru/article/article_display1.php?article_id=4021 Guns.Allzip is another famous foro in Russia. You can get a lot of information there. Here is how to solve the Shmell pump problem. I'm proud, my dirty fingers and my draw was copied in this page.... with no license. http://guns.allzip.org/topic/21/1185340.html The diference between Shmell1 and Shmell4 is the same as Coleman 442 and Coleman 533

repainted DOMOGAZ circa 1934 in modern military case self made outer cap Yes - @presscall Petroblitz use the same construction.
probably "set existing in 1895(6)" from newspaper annonce "old" tank and "new" tank iron heater without heat shields chain "no words" about different sizes /model type @Spiritburner @Christer Carlsson @igh371 @OMC
Gieorgi, If I scroll way up I like the priming tool btw. just above The range stand illustration from c1894 you say, that may be a 1st and looks like the illustration may differ from the oldest catalog, 1903. What am I missing, what should I be seeing with old vs new tank? [[[ EDIT are you referring to top illustration, tank on lower right does look different than the other 2... the 3 are artist's illustrations.]]] Gallery has several pre-1900 examples, credit Christer and others. I look there too, my initial look I am missing the 189x old vs new tank? Not sure what you mean. thx omc @gieorgijewski
ahhh how did I miss that the "new" tank, c1892, right... I should have known Only now I do see exactly what you mean and is shown in the 1st illustration. Your document incl. "1900", if document is a dated it is candidate for reference section. thx again omc
IMO post 1894 mostly 1895 ---------- none numbers "new" tank is - news conclusions old tank - older than 1895 (6) new tank - existed 1895(6)
Hasag is quite interesting itself but maybe a story for another day? --------- You're always connecting country/stove maker dots, this now is your Rosetta stone... THAT is definitely an interesting specimen you share with us, and you now have it in-hand? Why can it not just be SYSTEM PRIMUS No.1 (that's enough to chew on right there) oh no you add PHE * NIX ... (what the hell) I wish I could nix phe*nix system PRIMUS is conundrum enough with the misspelling of STOKHOLM oh sure toss in "patent"... this one is just full of it !!! DO you have more detail you found out about this? Can I assume it accepts standard Swedish burner thread? thanks! curious omc
