Hi - My name is John. I just dug an old camp stove out of the garage attic. It is a Kampkook model 40. Its history is pretty murky, but I believe that it belonged to my father. We never used it in my childhood, but did use a Coleman 413G quite a bit. I still use the 413 for car camping. The Kampkook is pretty rusty (it had a mouse nest in it that didn't do it any good), but the tank holds pressure, and the valves are not frozen up. I believe that it will probably fire up. I'm considering a clean up / refurbish, just for fun. I would like to know a bit more about the stove: production dates, original price, etc. It would be great to see a catalog or parts list for this particular model. Are there any parts available for AGM stoves: pump parts, generators, etc? Thank you for your help. John Van

Thanks - I've seen that Youtube video. The model 40 is a barebones stove. 17.5 x 10 x 3.5 inches when closed up. It has the pump mounted in the tank and the legs rotate up to hold the cover on. Here are some pics of mine.
@jnjvan AGM moved the fuel tank from the side of the stove to the front of the stove in about 1930. So your stove was certainly made before then.
Nice stove. Strip down all the rust and paint her up. It'll be a nice little stove. What part of MI you from? I'm just a little south of Detroit.
I concur with, @junkman, strip the case and repaint. While at it it may be a good idea to disassemble all parts clean them up to make sure everything is working properly. Once you have everything stripped from the fuel tank repaint. These stoves run great.
Pre-1930, eh? Cool! That's quite a bit older than I expected. I fired it up this afternoon. Primary burner works quite well. Valve for secondary is rusted up, so I was unable to test that side. I'll have to pull the burners out to free it up. The pump leather (cup) is kinda sketchy. Are they available? NOS or repops? Hi Junkman - I'm on the west side, between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. JV
Generally just a bit of oil soak and a little gentle stretching will return leather cup to functioning. You can get cups for Coleman's at Old Coleman Parts, will probably be close enough, or easy to make your own. I'm not always a big fan of taking everything apart, is too easy to damage things. Is your stove have fun with it!

nice stove John, a great project. Heat, penetrating oil,and patience will be your friends when you take the burner parts apart. IMHO if its burning good, leave the burners alone, just some cosmetic cleanup. I have several KK stoves Jan

My primary hobby is rebuilding antique outboard motors, so I am quite familiar with rusty stuff. scouterjan - Have you reworked a KK pump cup? Mine has an internal brass "expander" inside the leather cup. The cup is worn to the point that the fingers of the expander are rubbing on the pump cylinder. JV
Got the secondary burner control freed up today. Everything came apart pretty easy. Here are some flame shots.
Went to a flea market today and as I was walking around I noticed a vendor had a few lamps for sale.As I got closer I spotted a stove in the box new and never fired.Turns out it is an AGM kampkook stove model Lcs 21.
It has a few marks in the paint from years of bouncing around but that's the only wear on it.Anybody know what year it would be from or how to find out?
I recently picked up a model 40. My cup was missing. I'm bummed. Tried a cup from a Coleman 242 lantern. It's a little too big. Can you take a picture of yours?
