My name is Stef from the Netherlands. My love for vintage stoves started when I got an Optimus 111b as a present from my dad. Later I picked up two more Optimus stoves in Sweden (there waiting in my dad's barn in Sweden to come to the netherlands). And just a couple of days ago I picked up two more stoves in a thrift shop in my city. An vulcano by Ernst hähnel and an Enders 9063. My plan is to clean and rebuild them. But no restoration. I like the patina. Not sure if I'm keeping all off them. I was really pleased to find this forum. There's so much info on the stoves. And with the forum and you guys I feel confident I can do a good job. Greetings stef

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I just bought another Optimus 8r stove yesterday... they do multiply when there close together. Thanks for the warning #ivanN My dad is gone make some pictures off the Optimus stoves in Sweden. Those are not the box type ones. The ones I have where used in small wood cabins and boats. Found them in a thrift shop over there. I'll post the pictures one's my dad made them.
And yes #hazet. I'm in to vintage bicycles as well. Not the high end bikes but mainly dutch and French race and tour bikes. I like bikes with character and patina that I can still ride. And I collect vintage bike generators and lights as well. And I own a couple of vintage Solex mopeds and a 71 vw camper van. But I like the stoves because I can work on them at home. And not in my workshop away from home.
@Stef. Welcome to CCS. Nice stoves you have shown, & more to arrive & enjoy. Stovies tend to value most things mechanical that can be improved & used. I've decided to sell one off the box stoves. To generate some cash to rebuild the other one's. My girlfriend doesn't mind all my hobbies as long as it doesn't cost to much money. So that means that I will have to let one or two go. Which one would you guys keep. The vulcano or the enders? I
Welcome @Stef Neither, I'd hide one. If you must sell to raise funds and save relationship then does either have any sentimental value, a first stove, close companion on many trips? Which would you regret losing the least? How much do you want to raise? Which one, given different future circumstances would be easiest to replace. Just a few ideas for you as only you can decide at the end of the day.
The Vulcano is much harder to find, but both are great stoves. I would keep both and sell something different! Ciao, Bastian (who is using both of them very often!)
