Can anyone suggest a currently available lightweight pot set that will accommodate the 123r? I don't fancy my chances of ever coming across a Sigg Tourist set Cheers,
Not quite the same as SIGG, but I'm using Optimus Terra Weekend HE. Not for the masterchef, but I find it to be a nice combo.
The Svea 123 with aluminum cup fits inside the old Camping Gaz Globetrotter set of upper and lower aluminum pots and red nylon strap. Got 'em off ebay .
I have Sigg Tourist, but I use a Primus Litech trek kettle. Svea 123 fit just inside a plastic box that fit just inside the kettle.
I substituted the original cup with a GSI glacier cup, made to fit nalgene bottles. Lots of other similar products available with similar diameter. Anyways the cup means a lot more capacity and zero added bulk. Sturdy stainless cup also protects the stove. This together with one of those korean pouches makes my 123 one of my first choice among my compact stoves.
I have this SS Grease Pot from Walmart online. Not sure if you can order with out high shipping in Australia. Also works with pocket rocket canister stove. Comes with strainer, which you toss, so lid is not perfect fit with out it in place , no problem for me. Your countries fires are in the news daily and my thoughts are with you. I live in SoCal and know how it is to see your favorite mountain range go up in smoke. If your so inclined Australia could sure use our help- Red Cross, World Wide Fund for Australia. Ta for the link @Ian, I think I must have missed that first time around somehow. I must try tarp camping at some point, the Chouinard isn't far away, just a fancy one really, tarp with a zip.
@kerophile , thanks for the link. A great read with plenty of information. @IvanN , The Snow Peak 900 in Titanium looks really good. I like it's light weight to counterbalance the relatively weighty 123r. @Ian , will check out the GSI mug but can't seem to find that HE Primus pot here. Very common here though is the Optimus Terra Weekend version. @SveaSizzler , you'll be happy to know that while keeping eyes peeled for the Camping Gas Globe Trotter, have already spent more than 10 hours sucked into the vortex of vintage Camping Gaz Got drawn into their bizarre S200 stoves that pierce the metal gas cart...wow. And their range of lanterns...i like the symphony, can't believe I'm watching a couple! Thanks again.
I like the snow peak. It has room for the SVEA in a fleece sock. It keeps things padded and not rattling around. The fleece sock came with a head lamp, but it fits the SVEA just right. Ivan
Never a Camping Gaz fan, myself. The peirced cans seemed likely to leak. Their rarity and expense in the USA were also negatives. Once the gas cartridge is empty, you still have to lug it out. No thanks. For me their only practical benefit is in the Globetrotter pans that fit the Svea. Now that I've been on this site, I'm surprized by how many loyal Camping Gaz followers there are. But I'd still never buy one. Not since I know how to light a Svea 123.

Folks, just letting you all know that I got myself a pristine globe trotter set. Works a charm! Only one problem...I'm now addicted to Camping Gaz J
One thing to keep in mind when storing stove inside this way is that there is a chance of fuel leaking into your cooking pans. Best to always wash pans before use. Some storage cases don't allow much room for a plastic bag. Stay safe
Hi @JohnL Beware of possible corrosion problems if you store a brass stove in an aluminium pot or storage case: 123 in Globe Trotter case corrosion problem! Galvanic corrosion is always a possibility. Best Regards, Kerophile.
