This British brassie was probably made between 1940 and 1960, either in London or more likely Birmingham. Falk, Stadelmann & Co. Ltd. acquired the right to use the German trademark 'Veritas' in the 1920s, and over the next few decades developed it into a well known brand. F S & Co. Ltd changed it's name to Falk Ltd. in 1962, and ceased trading in the late 1960s. The stove has aluminium pot holders and a plastic pump knob, which is typical of British stoves made post WW2. The tin graphic depicts a British camping scene, typical of the period.
Hi @Twoberth nicely presented stove. Have a look through this early thread, and in particular the comments that came from Bryan Miller regarding this family of post-WW2 one-pint stoves: Veritas 9688 Picnic * Best Regards, Kerophile.
@kerophile Thanks for the link. Most stove history research trails eventually cross the path of Bryan’s work. His contribution was immense.
Bryan was a true gentleman who made a huge contribution to stove collecting and research. I still think of him often. Best Regards, Kerophile.
Thanks for posting that. I've never before seen the Veritas tin; really fine. I have a nickel-plated one, sans tin of course, that is a workhorse.
