Yes it did. Perhaps not as good as when it was new, though, and it will be interesting to see if a new generator makes a difference. Australian petrol, perhaps especially that which is used in the hotter season, also gums up carburettors if left to evaporate and smells more of paintstripper than petrol. But I bought the muka specifically for motorcycle trips so it will have to cope.
Re- why the petrol?- travel in outback Australia can be many days away from the nearest store for gas canisters or alcohol, but naturally we take great care to not run out of petrol. Which moreover is carried not only in the tank but also in jerry cans and fuel bags, as it can also be days of riding between gas stations. The situation makes petrol the preferred fuel, and if the muka can't handle it then I should get something which can. When not motorcycling, I use alcohol or gas stoves.
Interesting information, I can see why Soto advises on changing the generator out as a consumable or at least in this case of running unleaded given all the buildup that it causes. If the fuel gums up carbs then maybe letting the generator and jet assembly soak in a container of carb cleaner may work in the future, next to flushing it out every so often to prevent that kind of serious buildup.
If I had to use petrol I would choose a stove with much less parts and an easier cleaning of the generator.
For anyone curious about what the Muka looks like on the inside. I'm surprised by how simple the construction is. The body of the stove is 3 legs, 3 bolts, 3 leg holders plates, the aluminum(I believe?) main body which has a lot of complex features (and I assume is some kind of injection molded/die cast?) with the actual burner head, internal mesh and screw. Not too clearly visible in the photo: The generator does shoot into the cavity horizontally, but then I assume there's a lot of mixing that occurs within the cavity. The screw thread is a post that extends perpendicular from the tube that the jet is aimed into. Also I think the burner head is the same one across several Soto stoves but I'll have to check later.

If in your comprehensive review of the Soto Stormbreaker a subsequent poster infers with a comment not referenced to the original post that your effort was less than thorough I for one would understand your reacting as I did. What ‘new stove excitement’ incidentally? The Muka?
New stove excitement was the Muka indeed. The Muka was only available for some time in the US and I ended up waiting close to an entire month for the one I received to show up. I was in a bit of a disassembly curiosity driven rush to post in part due to dealing with some mental fog due to medication (that didn't help with the impulsiveness) as I went over the first post of the thread and remember the significant detail you went intofor the pump disassembly but had missed the second post that showed the Muka disassembled and thought to add to the thread.
Soto seems to have discontinued the import of the Windmaster and Muka into the US or have had "demand issues" in the case of the Windmaster from what I can gather:

@presscall I have a question since I didn't see this in the photos of your Muka generator but did you encounter anything that looked like cotton/wool or a white, fibery and possibly woven material just behind the brass screens of the jet? Location wise it should be at the right angle bend behind the threading but it sticks out a little into the generator. I took apart the generator on my Muka (which I believe to be of recent production) and noticed that behind the mesh screen on the generator that there is that substance behind it. I hadn't tried to pull it out but it seems deeply wedged enough that it isn't coming out without some tweezers and avoided going further.
