I would suggest advertising standards were maybe not as robust as they are now.

to be sure - You are talking about "2000 000 problem" or "at all" Hjorth PR campaign?

After "Petrolia" campaign - some noise...
Could I ask for translation - upper and lower text?

@gieorgijewski Re pinning down the moment that B.A.Hjorth & Co. was converted, incorporated, into a joint-stock company ('Aktiebolaget', 'Akt.Bol.', 'A/B').

Adverts shown above go up to March 1899 without the A/B designation, then jump to May 1899 by when we see a first example displaying the new title.

Following your leads further I'm pleased to say we can now fill that 1 month (April 1899) gap very precisely from 2 other sources.

First is a trade directory entry (here) which reads:
"Company B. A. Hjorth & Co. was founded in 1889 by Bernhard August Hjorth and Filip Henrik Getzmann, the latter of whom left the company in 1898, from which time B. A. Hjorth was the sole owner of the company until 1899, when the company was transformed into a limited company under the name Aktiebolaget B. A. Hjorth & Co. with a share capital of a minimum of 600,000 and a maximum of 1,800,000 kroner".

The second is a company registration document from 1920 (here) which fills in the final detail:
"Aktiebolaget B A Hjorth & Co Year 1920 Postal address Klara N. Kyrkogata 31, Stockholm. Company's ... Dividend 1917: 10% + one free share per four older shares. Dividend in 1916: 30% + one free share for each older share. Latest Articles of Association: 21 April 1899. Managing Director Hjorth, B A".

So there we have it. Aktiebolaget B A Hjorth & Co was incorporated as a joint stock company on April 21st 1899. A very precise point for beginning to date any documents or products displaying any version of the Akt.Bol. designation as being later than.

    That's a nice find, Gieorgijewski!
It's written in Danish, so I assume this was published in a Danish paper?

The logo was registered first in Sweden, in 26/9-1896, as stated.
Apparently this note is telling us the Danish registration number, and that it was applied for there 28/11-1896 and granted in 5/12 the same year.

Great research, @gieorgijewski! It would be interesting to find out when the first portable stove was sold and/or if the collaboration between Condrup (manufacturers of the travelling tins) and Primus is mentioned. The first time the portable stove (no's 8, 9, 10, 11, 215 and 216) has been spotted in a catalog is 1903, in Arne Aasgaard's excellent catalog. Perhaps your research can shed some light on this?

    Many thanks,
    Frank
