Is it possible to change pictures in a post from full size to thumbnail after the edit time has expired?
If it is of importantance to change, and hopefully just one topic, you can always ask me or Ross (Spiritburner). Is it any particular post?
@Christer Carlsson It would have been more than one post, so it is not important, it was hindsight, i will post my stoves in the gallery in thumbnails in the future they present better Thanks for the quick answer Cheers
@snwcmpr Thumbnails best of both worlds, double click and you have full size and can scroll through them.
I always post full-size photos myself, and prefer them in the posts of others. A lot easier to see that way! (I do know how to enlarge them....) They catch more immediate attention from the reader. I suppose if one has a long string, such as some who post large numbers of detailed photos of a single stove, that the thumbnail approach makes good sense.
Very good! That's how we prefer it to be presented when there are many pictures in a post. You can always click the report button if you realize that you really need a change after your editing time limit has expired.
@richmay it's a good topic thank you for this and your many recent examples posted, it's all good (vs not posting). result today: [thumbnails] "That's how we prefer it to be presented when there are many pictures in a post." my something new learned today. Definitely makes sense to review MANY pics on 1 screen (maybe select thumbnail(s), or not) vs lengthy scrolling through many pages just to see what posted. Caveat: i almost always view CCS from large screen. End user device is relevant to this topic. That and having viewed your posts, putting this in-context, full-size ie Coleman 400A vs thumbnails ie Coleman 440 , i think you make a good point. I post to mention TWO things: > I find, often a combination is best (not sure if site agrees), ie Primus No.6 1897 , some fullsize but many thumbnails per page as well. > there is also the method of posting smaller version of the full size image, a click expands the image (1st pic in Primus 6 link and your 400A) but STAYS on the page, reading can continue (vs thumbnail jumps away from page to thumbnail/image (only) viewer). If full sz image is already large/expanded it will not enlarge by clicking on it, as i recall. ---------------- FWIW here-in we discuss only full vs thumbnail. The size of images is managed before loading onto site (site might (auto?) adjust image size at times iirc). When posting in full-size, achieving a particular size on the page remains a work-in-progress for me. That and page layout. I'm thankful for the on the fly improvements to my posts that gremlins have made over the years. thx again
Likewise. I check into CCS now and then with my smartphone, which I've only had for a few months, but almost always I use the PC. Tiny little phone photos don't work well for me. Even the 'full-sized' ones are smaller than thumbnails.
Like OMC and Ed, I generally use a regular PC monitor when watching CCS or CPL. Small phone screens are just for emergencies and regular check-ups of the site during the day, but I have started to understand that many people don't even have a real computer. I guess that explain why many pictures we've see here last years are quite blurry and grainy when watching on a real monitor; They have been cropped and then posted with a phone, and also look fairly good when watching on one. But pretty bad for us using a normal (or large) monitor.
