btw does anyone know to change my flag as it’s a USA flag atm, i’m a Geordie born n bread lol but got good friends over the pond. bri
Brian, the flag is an automatic thing and depend of where your Internet provider host their servers, so nothing to do about at the moment. When I use my work computer, I often get an Israeli flag, but sometimes an US flag. This might be rectified in an upcoming forum upgrade if I understand it correctly.
Roger! just read on the threads as you message.me. What a learning day i'm getting. Bet i sleep the nite lol Right off to edit a vid. Back soon. Bri
whilst i tackling uploaded photos and using up the rest of my 3 braincell left, heres the RM stove update. heres the link: Thanks guys n girls putting up with my warrfle. Bri
Morning lads n lasses. My was on at 5am, but my body was saying Anyhoo, after yesterdays epic baptism of fire struggling on uploading and the natigation around the forum (thanks @Christer Carlsson for helping me) So today its the Monitor time. Eventually got sorted the kit i need from Ross at Fettlebox & ill get more than one kit. Thx Ross you must though i was a right clip!! in the vice to play. To make sure i had one of the 2 main variants for Ross, stripped parts. Off the clean up & polish. I never go up the grits for mirror polish, i love the bumps scratches & adds charachter. Lata. Bri
You could try a gas leak test with soapy water and watch for bubbles or a dunk test (but not with it alight!). Likely culprits are fount to riser joint (lead washer); filler cap seal; the seating of the pressure release valve - machined tip of the valve wears a step in it; u/s non return valve down the pump tube which can manifest as pump creep or can blow fuel into the tube but not always. You got a very yellow flame there, Bri. It suggests a rich fuel mix due to oversized jet hole. On the lipstick burners you can peen the hole a bit smaller by removing the gauze roll and dropping a steel tool like a narrow (8mm) centre punch the WRONG way down the tube so that the domed end (that you would normally strike) gently massages the tip of the lipstick from the inside. Then check it for size with a small jet pricker.
Thank Dean for getting back me, appreciate it. Ok, reading through (as i'm slow to take it in) hmm good one with soapy water. I''l order a couple of 17B kits from Ross & see how it fairs. Yeah m8 was a bit conserneed of the yellow flame. looking at the lipstick burner, could i buy a replacement? as i think my skills of 8mm centre punch is likely to go pair shaped aghhhhh jet pricker i wanted to get, kept forgetting. Just checking around the stove for obvious damage etc. and starting polishing. thank so much again pal. Bri
is it fate that two lads message me boot blowlamps….. maybe after xmas or new year. maybe from wor lad in Durham wink enjoy the weekend all, i’m counting how many spirit stoves, solid fuel, gas or multi fuel i’ve amassed!!! thinning out in the new year me thinks.haha! Bri
Just when I was going to not clean and check the last stoves. At first look I thought no names. How much I was Wrong. Meva No. 1. Dated 3qtr. 62. And last one Svea the King 5
Hi Bri, The Mevas tend to suffer from more than their share of stress cracking, so definitely one to keep away from the Brasso (ammonia). If you want to polish it, try Autosol.
