Hello friends who love Shemel 2 Russian gas stove After searching for a while, I got the Shemel 2 oven First, I poured gasoline into it, gasoline was leaking from several places The valve gasket was stiff like a piece of wood and the spring was weak so I replaced it The pump gasket was so tight that I had to burn it to remove it and replaced it with a new oil proof gasket. I think the pump is not working as it should and the flame is weak, isn't it? Of course, the stove was tested in the mountains and the wind was strong. It had a very calm and pleasant sound. I enjoyed it

    position of pump handle!!!
    possibly two situation:
1 very pour or inproper pump oring, or proper oring in inproper position on pump
    2 leaking NRV
if handle of pump is rising - shut off the stove - at once
    it is very dangerous
    -----------
check - is any liquid in pump chamber - if yes - check NRV

    ============
allways with new stove is good to make water test - before first time burn it.

Hello dear friend and neighbor of my country Thank you for your interest in this matter I checked what you said again, the fuel did not return from the pump And the washers were healthy Please, if you have a link or a photo of the maximum power of the torch, send it so I can compare which one is better Also, I did not understand the water test, please explain more.
Can gasoline be used for the pre-heater in the spirit glass or must it be alcohol?
    Thanks

    For the dunk test --
Empty any fuel out of the tank
Put the stove in a sealable plastic bag and place it in the freezer [Baggie is to keep gas fumes from contaminating food in freezer]
After an hour, take the stove out, remove the bag, tighten any openings, gas cap, turn on/off valve shut. etc.
Place stove in a basin of hot water.
Watch for any bubbles from any openings.
If you see no bubbles -- great.
If you see bubbles, you'll see where they come from

    Hope this helps.

Hello, dear friend, good morning Thank you for your guidance I will do this bubble detection test, but in general, I think that shmel 2 gas stoves are not very active. I saw a video about it, it took 7 minutes to boil a liter of water.

Kohdar, I have no experience with the Shmel stoves. The bubble test is for any stove.
OBTW, I've heard ''Shmel'' is Russian for Bumble Bee. Perhaps a reference to how a roarer type stove sounds?

Hello friends, good night I was about to test the waters, I ran into a new problem. To my surprise, I saw that the fuel had returned inside the pump chamber and the pump valve had a problem and its gasket was worn out. The valve gasket is too small and spare parts are not available. If possible, please advise for repairing or making the pump gasket. Thank you

You’re going to have to punch one out of a sheet of some fuel-resistant rubber, or maybe cork.

Hi. You can buy a nitrile rubber O-ring of the right thickness ( bemzyne resistant) from an automotive store and cut a slice. This must be done very carefully. ( Possibly grind to make the surfaces perfectly flat).

Hello dear friends Thank you for your guidance. First, I did the suggested method of cutting the O-ring, but it was very difficult due to the curvature of the O-ring and did not give a good result. Then, the oil-proof gasket punching method was performed with a copper pipe that I heated and punched, and a better result was obtained. I put it to the test now and it seems to work fine Thank you again for your kindness 20230408_184046.jpg 20230409_084953.jpg

Hello my good friends Thank you for taking the time to guide and revive this oven After 48 hours of pumping, there is still enough pressure in the tank and it has not lost its pressure at all, and this can be a way to test the pressure and health of the gas stove. I turned on the gas stove with a little alcohol, there was no need for a pump because I had pumped it 48 hours ago, it turned on very quickly and perfectly. I just don't know why the flame goes up and down and makes a whoop, whoop sound. I have put the url of the video, if this is normal, otherwise there is a problem, please help me. Thank you.

    @kohdarmiansali goos job so far!

Bernie Dawg explained the pulsation phenomenon in this video, caused by boiling fuel returning toward the tank from the burner:

Basically he solved this by adding a brass gauze filter inside the burner.

Another possible cause could be some carbon deposit in the burner tubes. Did you deeply clean the burner?

Or, with a well fettled and tight stove, probably you added a lot of pressure. When cold, release all the pressure. Then preheat again and light by pumping up to the desirable pressure as you would do with a kerosene stove and see if the problem is still there.

    easy Nicola
    basic:
    first step is preheating
    then pumping - pressurisation
    ----------
on video we see liquid fuel coming thru gas generator
    mean stove is overpressurised

@gieorgijewski the over pressurization came to my mind as third option, while I was thinking :)

But with valve closed fuel shouldn’t escape also if over pressurized.

3 point of procedure = ignition when the preheating was finish mean no flame !!!!

    ---------------------------
    open tank
    close tank
    preheat
    make 10 strokes with pump
    open valve on half power
    ignite
    -------------------
if weak power add 3 strokes

    if weak repeat 3 strokes
    count sum of the strokes

it is initial test of that stove
