Another acquisition from successful hunting at the flea market.
A small Primus 801 heating lamp that was apparently used to heat skis.
The lower part of the coil burner cover is missing. I think it is possible to reconstruct from pieces of brass sheet metal. Someday I will look into it.
    Operational. Works nicely. IMG_20230429_162759776.jpg IMG_20230429_162719301.jpg IMG_20230429_162831470.jpg IMG_20230429_163914364.jpg IMG_20230429_164003790.jpg

Very nice little ski waxing torch, it burns very well! Such a clean and simple design with a beautifully shaped tank.

I have a lovely old pair of wooden Norwegian-made skis which could do with attention of a torch of the same era like this! :-k I used to do a bit of kite boarding, and wanted to give kite-skiing a try, but we never seem to get enough snow... ](*,)

Hi @Branny75 . I use extraction gasoline (white gas).
Warm up the coil a little with a lighter and it should ignite
I see that in your case also the lower part of the cover is missing.

Branny, since you're in Sweden, just go for any alkylate gasoline, which is readily available everywhere.
Aspen, if you like, but there are cheaper brands in any gas station.

Thanks @Knee and @Christer Carlsson that's what I suspected but wasn't completely sure. I will buy some tomorrow at Jula store and test it. I also thought there must be a little piece missing on the shroud/plate. Maybe it was common to lose that particular piece while waxing skiis.

    Cheers!
I don't wax skies with mine, but it's actually a really good little torch to use when starting real blow torches, so that's how I use it.

Works a treat, and is a actually bit faster compared to use the meths tray the kerosene torches normally use:

That's a great use! Will try it out. Mine, missing half of the plate around flame will probably effect the flame shape, maybe I can fashion one out of a thin piece of sheet metal. Saving up some good projects for the winter. That'll be one to add!
