The Roberts fuel canisters were push-on, held in place by the friction of the rubber fitting. I don't think they will work with your stove. The Primus uses newer & still available cannisters I think.

@JanetT pictures of what you have would be a huge help here.
Where you at in the great state of MT?

I am extremely new to this forum. I attached pictures of my two items. Unfortunately, they no longer make a canister for my stove. The canister used to screw into the fixture and turning the canister was what turned on the stove. There is still a lot of butane in the container. Is it worth anything? I have tried getting rid of the duplicate pictures but have been successful. I am so sorry. I would love to get this working but realize it may not be possible? Thank you for responding to my request. [

    @presscall posted these instructions:

and he may have some input, as I do not know how that stove operates but the instructions state that you shouldn't turn cartridge.
I have several different brand (even modern) canisters with threads that may fit that.
I'm in Libby, where are you at?

I hope I am replying correctly. It has been years since I last used my stove so you are probably correct that back in the day I did not turn the canister. I am in Kalispell. Are you ever down this direction? If so, I would love to see if any canisters you have fit. I have been to REI and a couple other stores with no luck. I never make it to Libby but if I do in the near future could I contact you to meet up?

    Hey Ziradog.
Can you give me a list of the items you used and how you connected them?
I have two Hank Roberts stoves I want to convert.
I loved these when I was in the Boy Scouts.
    Thanks

I bought 1/8" brass tubing at my local Ace hardware store. It came in 1-foot lengths. I had a friend silver solder a short length over the tube on the Gerry stove that pierces the cartridge. I bought something like this: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256..._id=202405280656595908076592163760006774280_1

and cut off the end that goes to the stove. Slide the tubing over the 1/8" brass tubing, add a clamp (I uses stainless steel wire twisted) and there you go.

Picture in case the link doesn't work or dies.

    Thanks!
The first one cost $1.55 with free shipping. Only one per customer though.
I ordered a second one, and it was $9.83 with free shipping.
Since I paid with my Apple Card, I get 1% back.
Hopefully I can get the tubing and solder it on and make both of my HR stoves functional again.
So you have a link to the clamp you used?

It was literally some stainless steel seizing wire that I twisted. I did two spots ~3/16" apart. Just to keep the hose tight on the brass tubing.

And you were able to get enough compression over the braided steel cover?
Do you have pics of your set up before assembly?

The rubber (buna?) tubing inside the braid was fairly tight on the 1/8" brass tubing. Butane has lower pressure than propane, it all seems to work fine. Realize that on the original cartridge's the only thing holding the tank to the stove was the friction of the rubber piece in the tank. There are also adapters for sale on ebay periodically, not cheap though. They use 3 orings but still a friction fit to seal and hold it all together.

So when you gut the end off the tube, you left some of the rubber longer than the metal braid, and you used the clamp on just the rubber tubing? Or did it go over the metal braid as well?

I put it over the metal braid.
