Humour. In reality, having had the blockage enter the jet with gas pressure propelling it, it seems unlikely that sucking on the jet could draw sufficient air in any useful volume or pressure through the jet orifice (typically 0.23mm on butane stoves, smaller on lamps) to dislodge the debris.
Was wondering about that! Seems highly unlikely this would work. I mused on this once, supposing a jet was blocked in the field and no pricker available. Maybe a heat and quench cycle might work, but seems doubtful.
