Hello, all stove enthusiasts, I’m trying to find a replacement burner for a #210 (Hovik Verk) Primus. The burner is not working properly, and the person working on it says it just needs to be replaced. Anyone out there with a spare one they’d be willing to sell me? I don’t think it needs to be HV specific, but if there happens to be one out there…thanks for any offers!

What exactly do you mean when you say "burner"? Can you post a photo of the failed part?

It’s been tested and analyzed every which way and determined to be not worth fixing. So if anyone happens to have a spare running around for a price, message me. Thanks.

Also...you most likely do not need to replace it...

Primus supplied burners to those stoves also. May need to just find a junky stove. I don’t have anything. They can have issues, I’ve had to repair a few over the years.

Well, I am certainly learning that! What other issues should I look out for? Thanks again, Duane.

What exactly is wrong? Stripped threads, crack? A tapered jet may work if not sealing. I found a tapered jet for one of my Campus stoves, and did a sloppy fix on a burner leaking around a jet. Push comes to shove.

I think it is not fair not to say what is wrong with it.
    Have you tried it yourself?

It looks fine, what is wrong with it? It may just need a de-coke/de-carbon and a flush through?
How experienced is your repairer with paraffin stoves?

I simply requested a replacement burner. If anyone has a spare they’d like to sell me, please DM me. Respectfully, I didn’t ask for analysis, I trust my person.

And I didn’t realize that I needed burden of proof in order to request a replacement part. Is that how it works here?

People just want to help, and if they can't help with a replacement burner, they try to help fixing the one you allready have.

My experience is that it is a lot easier to find a stove, than just a burner. Optimus 00, Svea 121, Radius 21 etc has the same burner, the part over the priming cup.
The riser, the part under the primer cup, is a little trickier. That one has to be from a Primus 210, and my experience is that it is hard to get other than the original riser to seal well. But if it is just the burner that is broken, you will use the original riser.

@afoton thanks for your reply, it was helpful! Sadly, the burner jet hole is too large (likely just pricker wear) as well as jet itself being misaligned, so not only is the flame not blue but is offcenter. It appears that the stove suffered physical damage by some unknown means, resulting in the above. One could only guess, I rolled the dice on getting this stove from the bay of evil, so one takes ones chances there.
@SveaSizzler thanks also for your helpful reply, I put in a request to Mike a while ago, and he’s doing his best to hunt something down.
@hikerduane yeah, it won’t be a neat repair job, that’s for sure. I know my limits for doing that stuff, which is why I enlisted the help of my very experienced friend. In short, he determined that a replacement would likely be the best option because sometimes there is damage that truly cannot be repaired successfully.
I appreciate all the helpful replies here, I’ll keep hunting for options. I will post more photos when I get the chance. Please keep those replies respectful, as most have been. IMG_0279.jpeg IMG_0336.jpeg IMG_0334.jpeg IMG_0337.jpeg

My friend managed to fix the damage to this burner he had, so I trust him, he’s no newbie to paraffin stoves, works on them regularly and with as keen interest as most on this blog.

This particular burner (unrelated to the Hovik #210) clearly suffered some significant physical damage, bent priming cup and a substantial crack, which he was able to repair.

In my opinion, that damage isn’t typical wear and tear….but I suppose it depends on how you define typical.
Thanks again for all the genuinely helpful replies, I will continue hunting.
